Moodshare is a mental health therapy platform that connects licensed therapists and their patients in a group setting. Our ideal goal is to use technology as a medium to help people overcome mental issues that are drastically increasing.
As an organization, our aim is to be able to introduce affordable group therapy options while making group therapy sessions available anywhere in the US. We believe that through connection and support, people, coupled with professional help, can overcome their mental issues.
The therapists on Moodshare are licensed, trained, experienced, accredited and vetted psychologists (PhD / PsyD), clinical social workers (LCSW / LMSW), licensed professional counselors (LPC) or marriage and family therapists (LMFT). They have been qualified and certified by their state’s professional board after successfully completing the necessary education, exams, training and practice. While their experience, expertise and background vary, they all possess at least 3 years of clinical experience.
The group members are individuals who are seeking help such as yourself. They are matched with you and your therapist within your group. We do our best to match you with people that are going through what you’re going through. If you feel your group and therapist isn’t a good fit for you, you may elect to be matched to a different group and therapist.
It usually takes between 3-7 days to find 5 participants for any group.
Moodshare may be a good option for you if you are looking for a more affordable option other than individual 1-on-1 therapy or if you are looking for the support of people going through the same problems that you are facing.
There are two types of live sessions;
Intro Sessions – You will attend a 1-on-1 introductory session with your therapist after you create your account. This will give your therapist the opportunity to get to know you personally and assign you to their groups. The session may last between 15-30 minutes depending on your therapist.
Group Sessions – The group therapy sessions will begin after your group has been populated with 5 participants and 1 therapist. The sessions are conducted if 4 or 5 participants attend the singular group therapy session. The therapist will be the main point of contact and the mediator of the conversation. The therapist will guide the conversation so that each participant can share their personal experiences. The session will last approximately 60 minutes.
After you are assigned to your group you will have access to the private group chat room. The main intention of the group chat is to communicate attendance to the group therapy sessions and to communicate a suitable time for the recurring group therapy that is suitable for every member. The message room is not intended for therapeutic conversation. Your therapist will only communicate information regarding the occurrence of the session.
Your progress through your continued use of Moodshare is tracked from the responses you give to the outcome questionnaires. Your progress is displayed on the following two graphs;
Peace of mind – This graph shows your overall progression on Moodshare over time.
Well being – This graph shows your latest outcome questionnaire result spread into its sub-categories.
The group therapy sessions are on a pay as you go plan. You will not be charged for any group therapy session you don’t attend. The individual group therapy sessions are $29.99 per session. You may also elect to purchase therapy sessions from the following packages:
- Basic Package, 4 Sessions – $109.99 (about $27.50 per session)
- Standard Package, 12 Sessions – $299.99 (about $25.00 per session)
- Longevity Package, 28 Sessions – $599.99 (about $21.50 per session)
Depending on the attendance to the group therapy session (if the number of participants is less than 4), the session may be cancelled. If that is the case you will be refunded 1 therapy session in the form of a single credit which will appear in the “Balance” page.
You will not be charged for the intro session that is conducted after you create your account.
Refunds for all in-app purchases including purchased group therapy credits or partially used credits are not granted.
Moodshare is currently not covered by insurance. However, we are focused on creating the infrastructure necessary to reach millions of people through insurance. We hope to make our services eligible for coverage in the near future.
